JUST IN: Governor Eno Orders Immediate Relocation Of Akwa Ibom Residents Amid Erosion Crisis

Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has ordered the immediate relocation of residents in Uyo-Ewet communities to prevent a looming humanitarian crisis caused by severe gully erosion.

The governor's directive includes the demolition of structures in affected areas to expedite an ongoing reclamation and beautification project.

During an unscheduled visit to the site, Governor Eno instructed the Commissioner for Lands, Captain Iniobong Ekong (rtd), to ensure the swift relocation of residents to facilitate the project's progress.

The governor stated that the government aims to transform the dangerous ravine into a wealth-generating recreational facility.

The Managing Director of Bulletine Construction Company Limited, Chief Faysal Harb, reported that the first phase of the project, which includes various sports facilities and a children's playground, is well underway.

Governor Eno expressed satisfaction with the project's progress and assured that the completed facility would serve as a family-friendly relaxation spot for both locals and visitors.
