This directive follows a 10-hour downpour on Wednesday that disrupted business and commercial activities in Lagos and Ogun states.
The heavy rain led to the collapse of a two-storey building in Mushin, hindered vehicular movement, and affected thousands of residents, with many students unable to attend school.
Federal Controller of Works, Lagos State, Olukorede Kesha, confirmed the directive and stated that while widespread flooding was not observed, localized flooding affected certain sections of federal roads.
Teams have been deployed to assess and carry out the desilting of drains on these roads.
The ministry is committed to resolving the issues caused by the flash floods.
