SUNDAY WEEKLY: Why They Don't Care About Jesus When You Talk About Him

Spreading the message of Jesus has often been misinterpreted by believers, leading to an overemphasis on intellectual understanding rather than spiritual connection.

What is head knowledge ?

1. Head knowledge : It involves interpreting God's words in a personal way based on one's knowledge of the scriptures instead of spiritual interpretation of the scriptures. 

Have we forgotten that John 6:63 says the Word of God is spirit and life?

Relying solely on your knowledge of the scriptures without interpretation and not allowing the spirit to guide your words can result in preaching that fails to resonate with others.

 Preachers today often struggle with submission, hindering their growth.

While it's good to know the scriptures, you should speak according to the spirit's guidance, not just what you think you know.

Biblical Example: Apostle Paul.

Paul initially struggled with his flaws, but he grew in Christ by trusting God to shape him.

2. Memorizing - Avoid Over-rehearsing. 

 Many Christians memorize their sermons word for word, not realizing that each person requires a different approach to be drawn to God.

 You might know the scriptures well, but it's important to remember you don't know everything. 

Prepare your notes but don't over-rehearse.

 The spirit of Christ will guide you to the right person at the right time, and then God will work through your message.

3. Sin: I personally struggle with anger issues, but when I sense this, the spirit leads me back to the scripture. 

I share this to illustrate that you shouldn't condemn yourself for flaws that sometimes hinder your walk with Christ. 

The solution lies in fully submitting to God and understanding that growth is a gradual process.

When preaching, sin can sometimes manifest as self-condemnation, especially when addressing issues you yourself struggle with. 

This can prevent you from hearing the spirit's guidance.

Note: The sin referred to here includes personal flaws, not activities like fornication or robbery. 

Flaws are aspects of your personality, not sinful acts.

4. Religion: Many have turned soul-winning into a routine, preaching based on doctrine and instilling fear rather than peace. 

Stop using threats of hellfire to instill fear.

 True salvation comes from within, through messages of peace and love, which Christ embodies.
