80 Billion Fraud Scandal: NEYGA Urges Tinubu to Stop Kogi Governor's Alleged Protection of Fugitive Ex-Governor

The Northern Ethnic Youth Group Assembly (NEYGA) has urged President Bola Tinubu to take action against Governor Usman Ododo for allegedly protecting former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, who is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for an N80 billion fraud.

In a statement by spokesperson Ibrahim Dan-Musa, NEYGA accused Ododo of exploiting his gubernatorial immunity to shield Bello, facilitating his movements and lobbying influential figures to intervene on Bello’s behalf.

NEYGA condemned these actions as detrimental to President Tinubu’s anti-corruption campaign and warned that ignoring them could set a harmful precedent.

The group stressed that Bello should face justice for his alleged corruption and other offenses during his tenure.

The group also called on the EFCC to persist in its efforts despite Bello’s attempts to manipulate public opinion.

NEYGA urged Kogi State residents to reject self-serving politicians and demand transparency and accountability.

The statement concluded by affirming NEYGA’s support for the EFCC and its commitment to fighting corruption, calling for national unity in this effort to build a just society.
