Here are the things you need to know:
First of all you have to understand that not everyone has the same reason their prayers are not getting answered.
There are certain reasons you might be having a hard time in getting answers to your prayers:
1. Praying while in your sin: Psalm 66:18 says, “If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.”.
We have failed to understand that sin draws every man away from God.
Because of this, we will lack direction. The lord talks to you even while in your sin but because of sin, you would never be able to hear his still small voice because you have allowed the word of the enemy get louder than the word of God in your spiritual ears.
You have to ask God for forgiveness and ask him to give you the ability to do only his will. It is not going to be easy especially at the initial stage of the request but once you never relent in God even if you find yourself in sin, definitely you will receive the strength of God to grow.
The only man that grows is a man that doesn't condemn himself when he sins but condemns only sin and feels Godly sorrow that the lord has the ability to help him grow out of sin.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit'-- Romans 8:1.
NOTE: If you keep living in sin, even if the lord is giving you direction to the answers to your prayer, you won't hear him because you have drawn far away from him.
2. Praying Amiss: 'You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures'- James 4:3.
We should learn to always ask God if whatever we are praying for is his will or asked for at the wrong time. These are important reasons the lord is not answering your prayers yet.
It could definitely be that you are either asking for what you shouldn't ask for or you are asking for something that is going to definitely happen but at the right time.
For example, a lot of ladies remain single for a lot of years because their expectation about a partner is only on physical terms.
The lord might definitely have someone with great potential right infront of you but you won't be able to see him because you are judging based on the things of flesh rather than the things of the spirit.
I am not saying physical consideration is not important but let every thought coming from a child of God be done in moderation and in spirit.
NOTE: If you are not hearing from God, you should either understand that you are either praying amiss or your request has an appointed time. Don't loose hope.
3. Praying without faith. James 1:6. 'But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed'. If you don't have a strong belief that God will fulfill your request, there are eighty percent chances of that request getting delayed. Don't allow your lack of faith to toss you over to other solutions. This can also be the reason your prayers are yet to be answered.
4. Talking too much. 'Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles” (Proverbs 21:23).
The lord has revealed his word to us and before manifestation, we have gone to tell the wrong people.
Though it was a blessing in disguise but I believe if Joseph had been quiet about his dream, he wouldn't have suffered as much as he did. Let us learn to be wise in speaking so that the word of God upon your life wouldn't reach the wrong ears.
Some of your friends or even family can hinder your potential blessings from happening because you talk too much.
Learn to be patient and calculative concerning what you say until the blessing of the lord upon your life is fully established.
